Together We Roll Continues to Build Louisiana’s Adaptive Skateboarding Community at Pelican Skatepark
There are moments that remind you exactly why you started something, and our Together We Roll Adaptive Skate & WCMX Clinic at Pelican Skatepark in Mandeville, Louisiana, was one of those moments.
After only our second clinic at Pelican Park, it’s incredible to see the momentum already building. New riders are discovering adaptive skateboarding and WCMX for the first time, families are connecting with one another, and local skateboarders are stepping up to encourage and support athletes of all abilities. Watching this community come together has been inspiring.
At TNT 360 Mobility, we believe adaptive sports are about much more than learning tricks or riding ramps. They create opportunities for confidence, independence, friendships, and a sense of belonging. Every rider who drops into the park proves that limitations don’t define what someone can achieve.
Building a Stronger Community
None of this would be possible without the organizations and individuals who believe in our mission.
We want to extend our sincere appreciation to SMCL Foundation & Associates for their continued partnership and commitment to growing adaptive sports throughout Louisiana. Their support has helped us bring these opportunities to more athletes and families than ever before.
A huge thank you also goes to Kenner Parks & Recreation, who believed in this vision from the very beginning and have continued supporting the growth of our adaptive programs.
We’re equally grateful to the amazing team at Pelican Park / Recreation District No. 1 for welcoming us with open arms and providing an outstanding venue for these clinics. Their dedication to creating inclusive recreational opportunities has made Pelican Skatepark a place where everyone can experience the joy of skateboarding.
A Special Visit from Box Wheelchairs
One of the highlights of the day was welcoming Mike Box, founder of Box Wheelchairs, to the clinic.
Having Mike spend time with our athletes, families, and local riders was a special experience. His passion for adaptive sports and continued support of the Louisiana WCMX community means a great deal to everyone involved. Partnerships like these help strengthen the adaptive sports movement and inspire the next generation of athletes.
More Than a Sport
For many people, WCMX may look like athletes performing impressive tricks in wheelchairs.
For us, it’s much more.
WCMX represents:
- Freedom to explore without limits.
- Confidence built through every accomplishment.
- Independence gained through movement.
- A community that welcomes everyone.
- The opportunity to challenge perceptions and inspire others.
Every clinic introduces someone to a sport that has the potential to change their life.
Looking Ahead
Following the clinic, the excitement continued with wheelchair football before an unforgettable trip to the X Games. A special thank you goes to the staff at Pelican Park for generously providing tickets and making that experience possible.
As Together We Roll continues to grow, so does our vision of building a statewide adaptive skateboarding and WCMX community where every athlete has the opportunity to learn, progress, and belong.
This is only the beginning.
Thank you to every participant, volunteer, family member, skateboarder, sponsor, and supporter who continues to help us build something truly special.
Together, we’re creating more than athletes—we’re creating a movement.
