October is Spina Bifida Awareness Month, a time to shine a light on the stories and strength of those living with this condition. For me, it’s a deeply personal cause—having lived with Spina Bifida for 48 years, I’ve experienced firsthand the challenges and triumphs that come with it.
Spina Bifida has shaped my journey, but it has never defined my limits. It has taught me resilience, given me a unique perspective on life, and fueled my passion for helping others find their independence and confidence through mobility and adaptive sports.
Let’s use this month to educate, raise awareness, and support the Spina Bifida community. Together, we can continue breaking down barriers, promoting inclusion, and celebrating the achievements of all those affected by Spina Bifida. Every voice and every story matters.
