Top Adaptive Athletes Compete at Citywalk Skatepark for 2024 World WCMX Championships
Exciting news for adaptive sports enthusiasts! The 2024 World WCMX Championships are set to take place on December 7th, 2024, from 10am to 5pm at the new Citywalk Skatepark in Birmingham, AL. This highly anticipated event will bring together the top adaptive skateboarding and WCMX (Wheelchair MotoCross) athletes from around the globe eager to display their talents.
Event Highlights:
- World-Class Competition: Athletes will compete in various divisions including WCMX Men, WCMX Women, WCMX Am (Youth & Beginners), Adaptive Skateboarding, Adaptive Skateboarding Women, and a Best Trick contest featuring local able-bodied skateboarders.
- Premier Venue: Citywalk Skatepark, which opened in 2022, is a state-of-the-art facility featuring a street plaza, pump track, amoeba bowl, and Olympic bowl. These amenities provide an exceptional environment for both athletes and spectators.
- Global Series Finale: In addition to the championships, this event will serve as the final stop of the World WCMX Series, a six-stop contest series with events held in Great Britain, Switzerland, Germany, the USA, and online.
The World WCMX Championships have been the leading event for adaptive action sports athletes since 2014. It continues to promote the growth and recognition of skatepark-based adaptive sports, providing a platform for athletes to showcase their incredible skills and determination.

- Noon: WCMX Am
- 1pm: WCMX Women
- 2pm: Adaptive Skateboarding Women
- 3pm: Adaptive Skateboarding Men
- 4pm: WCMX Men
