Riding the Waves of Adventure: A Day of Adaptive Sports in Louisiana
The River Front in Central Louisiana was the perfect backdrop for Julian and I as we hit the hills and bike trails with our trusty custom box wheelchairs. The thrill of the ride was unforgettable as we pushed ourselves and our wheelchairs to the limit.
Every month, Louisiana Action Sports clinic offers individuals with disabilities the chance to get outside, try new things, and push their boundaries. Box custom wheelchairs were made to tackle an array of terrain, and they proved themselves on this day of adventure.
Along the way, a friendly Rapides Parish cop stopped to show their support, reminding us that anything is possible with determination and a positive attitude.
As the day came to an end, Julian and I left the River Front feeling empowered and proud of what we accomplished. Adaptive sports offer individuals with disabilities a sense of freedom, adventure, and self-discovery. It was a day filled with laughter, fun, and good memories.
So, what are you waiting for? Get out there and try adaptive sports for yourself. From adaptive skate to football, the benefits are endless. Let’s shred those hills and see what we’re capable of!
