CENLA Wheelchair Athletes Gather to Practice Football for New Orleans Saints Wheelchair Football Team Tryouts
CENLA wheelchair athletes are coming together to practice wheelchair football and prepare for the New Orleans Saints Wheelchair Football Team tryouts that are set to begin in May. The group will be meeting at least once a month in the CENLA area with hopes of getting more participants involved in adaptive sports. Even youth are welcomed to practice and start learning the ropes for the hopefully soon Youth Wheelchair Football League.
Wheelchair football is a popular adaptive sport that allows individuals with mobility impairments to participate in a competitive and physically challenging activity. The sport requires players to maneuver wheelchairs while trying to score points by moving a ball across the opposing team’s goal line. The sport is not only physically challenging, but it also requires strategic planning and teamwork.
The CENLA wheelchair athletes are excited to have the opportunity to practice and prepare for the New Orleans Saints Wheelchair Football Team tryouts. This team has been active for around 3 years and is well known in the adaptive sports community. Being a part of this team is a great opportunity for individuals with mobility impairments to showcase their skills and compete at a high level.
The group meets at least once a month, and anyone interested in participating is welcome to join. The practice sessions are led by experienced coaches and athletes who have extensive knowledge of the sport and adaptive sports in general. Youth participants are also welcome to join and learn the ropes of wheelchair football, with the hope of creating a Youth Wheelchair Football League in the near future.
If you’re interested in participating or learning more about adaptive sports, the CENLA wheelchair athletes welcome you to join their monthly practices. It’s a great opportunity to stay active, meet new people, and learn a new sport. Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to be a part of a growing community of adaptive sports enthusiasts.
