Wheels in Motion: The Journey to Establish WCMX in Louisiana
As the President of TNT 360 Mobility, I am thrilled to share the incredible journey we have had in leading the way to bring WCMX (Wheelchair Motocross) to Louisiana. This experience has been both inspiring and invigorating, highlighting the transformative power of adaptive sports and the unwavering spirit of our community.
The vision for WCMX in Louisiana has always been rooted in inclusivity, freedom, and pushing the boundaries of what is possible for individuals with disabilities. Seeing this dream come to life has been nothing short of extraordinary, and it could not have happened without the generous and steadfast support of the S.M.C.L. Foundation & Associates and the City of Kenner. Their commitment to accessibility and adaptive sports has set the stage for a brighter future, not just for WCMX athletes but for everyone who values independence and resilience.
The City of Kenner’s dedication to creating an accessible environment at Wentwood Park has been instrumental in this movement. Their investment in adaptive infrastructure represents a milestone in ensuring that individuals of all abilities have the opportunity to thrive. The sight of athletes rolling into the park with confidence and excitement is a testament to what can be achieved when we prioritize inclusivity.
Our journey to bring WCMX to Louisiana was fueled by partnerships and a shared belief that mobility should never be a barrier to participation. The S.M.C.L. Foundation & Associates, under the leadership of the indefatigable Rev. Julius Lee, has been a cornerstone in this effort. Their support and advocacy have empowered us to expand the reach of WCMX, ensuring that more people can experience the exhilaration and camaraderie of adaptive sports.
The launch of our WCMX programs has already sparked a wave of enthusiasm across the community. From clinics and classes that introduce newcomers to the sport to advanced sessions where seasoned riders hone their skills, the energy is palpable. We are excited to see the next generation of adaptive athletes take the ramps, push their limits, and inspire others to do the same.
