A New Chapter in Adaptive Sports: Reflections on the Wheels in Motion Event
As the owner of TNT 360 Mobility, I am excited to share my thoughts on the Wheels in Motion WCMX & Adaptive Skate Event held on October 12, 2024, at Wentwood Skatepark. This event marked a significant step forward in our mission to promote adaptive sports and foster an inclusive community for athletes of all abilities.
Building a Thriving Community
The day was filled with energy and enthusiasm as athletes showcased their incredible skills in WCMX (wheelchair motocross) and skateboarding. For many, this was their first opportunity to experience these exhilarating sports, and I was truly inspired by the determination and passion exhibited by each participant.
However, I believe the event was about more than just the athletes performing tricks and stunts; it was about building a community. We are starting to create a network of athletes, supporters, and advocates who share a common goal: to raise awareness and encourage participation in adaptive sports.
Support from Our Leaders
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the city officials who joined us, including Mayor Michael J. Glaser, CAO Natalie Newton, Chief of Police Keith Conley, Director of Recreation Charles Illanne, Jefferson Parish Councilwomen Arita Bohannan, and Councilman George Branigan. Their presence and support demonstrated a strong commitment to inclusivity in our community. It was reassuring to see our local leaders actively engaging with the adaptive sports community, which encourages a welcoming atmosphere for all.

Your generous support helped create an event that not only showcased the talents of adaptive athletes but also raised awareness of the importance of inclusivity in sports.
Looking Forward
As I reflect on the Wheels in Motion event, I am filled with optimism about the future of adaptive sports in our region. We have taken the first steps toward building a strong, inclusive community, and I am excited to see where this journey takes us. Together, we can continue to promote adaptive sports, create more opportunities for athletes, and inspire others to join us in this important mission.
Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and supported the event. Your contributions are what make our community special, and I look forward to what we can achieve together!
