Celebrating a Joyful Experience at the 2024 Camp Friendship
I recently had the pleasure of being a part of the 2024 Camp Friendship, organized by the Spina Bifida of Louisiana. It was an awesome experience, and I loved every minute of it.
The best part of the camp was getting to share my passion for adaptive sports with the kids. It was so cool to see them excited about playing sports like basketball and football. Some of these kids have been coming to the camp for years, and it’s incredible to see how much they’ve grown. Their skills have improved, and their mobility has gotten better, which is just amazing to witness.
Seeing the joy and excitement on their faces as they tried new activities was the highlight of the camp for me. Whether they were new to adaptive sports or had been playing for a while, their enthusiasm was contagious. It’s a reminder of how important it is to have spaces where kids can feel supported and encouraged to try new things.
Camp Friendship is more than just a camp; it’s a community. The connections between the kids, their families, volunteers and the staff are truly special. It’s a place where everyone feels like they belong, and that’s something really beautiful.
I’m grateful for the chance to be part of this wonderful event. It reinforced my belief in the power of sports to make a difference in kids’ lives. I’m already looking forward to next year’s camp and can’t wait to see how much more these amazing kids will grow.
Thank you to everyone who made the 2024 Camp Friendship such a success. It was an unforgettable experience, and I’m honored to be part of this community.
